Taking the GRE in the Middle East

The Middle East is a region where most graduate study abroad runs on government and employer scholarships, and the GRE turns up here for the same reason it does everywhere else: it stands between a candidate and graduate school admission, mostly in the United States and Canada.

Not every client here is applying to a university. In March 2026 we published a note about clients in Dubai, Iran, Qatar and Iraq for whom a qualifying score was part of securing a visa and leaving a war zone. That is not the usual reason someone books a proxy test taker, and it is worth saying plainly that the stakes in this region are sometimes not academic at all.

How the GRE is run in the Middle East

The GRE is just under two hours of Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning and Analytical Writing, and the version we handle is GRE General Test at home, watched by ETS-contracted human proctors over ProctorU. Because it runs on your own machine rather than in a hall, where you are sitting matters only for scheduling.

Registration still needs a government photo ID whose name matches the registration exactly, so the details on your booking have to match the documents you hold.

GRE cases we have published

6 cases from the Middle East are published here, each with its score report attached. The strongest of them is worth reading in full: Wealthy Middle Easterner 🇦🇪 got his GRE330+ official score report! Its score report, 330, is attached.

They are worth reading rather than skimming: people who wanted to know why they should trust us before paying; bookings made against a deadline.

One client put it this way: “ChatGPT brought me to Daisy”

What GRE score to aim for

The GRE is scored from 260 to 340. Most of our the Middle East clients are applying to institutions like several international branch campuses in the Gulf for scholarship applications for study abroad, where anything at or above 325 is competitive, and that is the range we work to.

Our published cases show that range is reachable: read the client who scored 330.
