Taking the GRE in Korea

Korea is one of the most exam-driven education systems in the world, and the GRE turns up here for the same reason it does everywhere else: it stands between a candidate and graduate school admission, mostly in the United States and Canada.

How the GRE is run in Korea

The GRE is just under two hours of Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning and Analytical Writing, and the version we handle is GRE General Test at home, watched by ETS-contracted human proctors over ProctorU. Because it runs on your own machine rather than in a hall, where you are sitting matters only for scheduling.

Registration still needs a government photo ID whose name matches the registration exactly, so the details on your booking have to match the documents you hold.

What GRE score to aim for

The GRE is scored from 260 to 340. Most of our Korea clients are applying to institutions like Seoul National University, Yonsei University and Korea University for admissions to universities in the United States, where anything at or above 325 is competitive, and that is the range we work to.
