The first step is to set up your computer. This involves a lot of technical stuff so I’m not going to bore you with details.
The check-in process is the same for all online tests conducted by ProctorU.
30 minutes before the test begins, log on to your ProctorU account and wait for the hired test taker to get ready.
When the countdown ends, click “Start Session” beside the “Reschedule” button.
Click “Let's get started”:
If you need assistance, click the 🦉 icon in the upper right corner, and select "Help".
Get your passport ready for photographing, and click “Continue”.
Ensure you are in a quiet, well-lit private testing space.
This is to tell you that ProctorU will record everything. Be noted that both your screen and the webcam on your computer will be recorded.
Tick “I agree to all the above statements”, and click “Continue”.
Allow ProctorU to use your microphone 🎤 and camera 📹.
Equipment check completed!
Position your face in the red ellipse⭕️, and make sure that the top of your head and your chin are within the ellipse. Click “Take Photo”.
The ellipse will turn green when your photo is successfully taken.
Take a photo of your passport:
Stay seated, don't obstruct your webcam, and remain quiet.
If you have an unstable connection, you may get a message like this during testing. But it's not an issue.
Run Logmeinrescue.exe, and open the chatbox.
The proctor will do some manual checking and turn off programs that will not be used during the testing.
The proctor then will check your passport, scratch paper, pencils, and erasers. You will also be asked to hold your computer to make a 360-degree view of your room.
If you have an unstable connection, the proctor may ask you to restart your computer.
The proctor will ask you to tear up your scratch paper.
You can fill in the questionnaire for feedback on your testing experience.
