ETS's Second Camera Killed the Old Photo-Cheat, and Most Proxy Sellers With It (2026)
ETS has quietly raised the bar on its at-home exams. The GRE at home and the TOEFL Home Edition now run on a dual-camera setup, also called the second camera. Alongside your webcam you point a phone from the side, so the proctor can watch your screen, your hands and the whole room at the same time.
That single change wiped out the method most amateur proxy sellers depended on. The old trick was simple. During the test you quietly photograph the screen with a smartphone and send it to a helper, who sends the answers back. With a second camera now aimed at your phone and your desk, you cannot touch a phone at all, so the photo trick is finished.
You do not have to take our word for it. Here is a former GRE, GMAT and TOEFL seller telling us, in their own words, that they are out of the game:

What they admit, step by step:
- "Before the second camera control I used to sell GRE course so I know how the process works."
- "But now we don't have the software to bypass the proctor system."
- "No, before I didn't use a software. They sent a photo of screen with smartphone."
- Our question: "So after the second camera you couldn't do this any more?" Their answer: "Yes."
This is the state of the proxy-testing market right now. Anyone who was never really technical, the sellers who only forwarded a phone photo, is done. The second camera shut their only door.
It did not shut ours. Sitting a second-camera exam cleanly is a technical problem, and we solve it with real remote methods, not a phone hidden under the desk. We take the dual-camera GRE and TOEFL Home Edition the same way we handle every modern proctor: a proper setup, a human expert on the controls, and a clean finish.
If a seller promises to just send a photo, they are describing a method that already stopped working. If you want the second-camera version done properly, message @daisyexams.
