Why a Test Center That Takes Too Many Gets Caught

Telegram chat: a student whose faked Linguaskill score was caught in a mass back-investigation of more than 200 students

What the screenshot says (translated from the Chinese): a former customer explains that an agency had students wear pinhole cameras and feed them answers through mini earpieces to fake their Linguaskill scores. More than two hundred students were back-investigated at once, the scores were voided, the case was trending, and they are now left sitting a real in-person exam or losing their university place.

Someone messaged us this month after their English score fell apart. An agency had put them, and more than two hundred other students, through test centers wearing pinhole cameras and mini earpieces, with answers fed to them live. The scores were faked, and this month every one of those students was back-investigated at once. The results were voided, the case was trending, and the students were left choosing between sitting a real in-person exam or losing their university place.

The method is not what sank them. Plenty of people pass that way. What sank them was volume. When one center pushes hundreds of candidates through, it leaves a pattern, and a pattern is exactly what an exam board or a university looks for. The day one case is caught, every other candidate who went through the same center gets pulled into the same sweep. Two hundred results do not fall one at a time. They fall together.

This is why we do the opposite. Each partner test center we work with takes only one to three bookings a month. That is a deliberate cap, not a limit we wish we could lift. A center that sees one quiet candidate a month looks like every other center. There is no cluster, no spike, nothing to back-trace. We would rather turn work away than turn a good center into a statistic.

It also means we run every test-center sitting one at a time, from start to finish. For the exams that still have to be sat in person, we handle the booking, the travel, the designated hotel and the on-site logistics, and we see the exam through in the room. You can read how that works on our in-person pages for the FRM, CFA, GMAT, GRE, SAT, IELTS and ACT, and you can see a full worked example in our GMAT test-center case study.

If you need a test-center sitting done properly, the thing to know is that our capacity is small on purpose. We take very few, we take them carefully, and we take them early. Message us well before your date so we can fit you into a center that stays quiet.
