<p>The August 22, 2026 SAT administration was a strong one for our clients. Several came away with 1550+ totals, a few of them near perfect. Their official score reports are in the gallery below, with the section scores hidden for privacy.</p>

<p>This was the digital SAT, taken in College Board's Bluebook app. The test is section-adaptive: Reading and Writing comes first, then Math, each split into two modules where the second module adjusts to how the first went. It is scored from 400 to 1600, runs about two hours and fourteen minutes, and a built-in Desmos calculator is allowed throughout the Math section. August is one of the U.S. fall test dates.</p>

<p>So this GRE proxy test turned into a long back-and-forth. He had a question about almost every step, and the job threw up one problem after another: a payment his bank wouldn&#39;t let through in a single go, a computer he didn&#39;t own, and, the night before the exam, a setup that erased itself. He still walked away with his 330+. Here is how it went, start to finish, and how we answered every question and solved every problem along the way, because that is the job.</p>

<h2>&quot;Could you give me some more information?&quot;</h2>

<p>Adam&#39;s first message was already a list: timeline, cost, payment method, and which of our approaches would suit him. I worked through each. I sent our scam warnings before he asked, because a careful buyer should see them, and there are plenty of <a href="https://examinator.cc/scams">scammers</a> out there trading on our name.</p>

<p>Then I explained how a GRE at-home bypass works and pointed him to our full <a href="https://examinator.cc/posts/gre-at-home-proxy-testing-proctoru-guide">GRE at-home guide</a> so he could read the details in his own time. The short version, without dressing it up: he registers for a date and time we set, runs a small disposable program beforehand that lets us step in, we test everything in advance, and on the day he watches while keeping his own hands on the keyboard.</p>

<h2>&quot;How do you do the essay section?&quot;</h2>

<p>This was the answer he most wanted nailed down. <em>&quot;I need that one to go well too,&quot;</em> he said. I gave him the honest version without handing over the method: the Analytical Writing is taken care of on our end, set up during the practice run, and on the day it looks after itself. He didn&#39;t have to write it, and he didn&#39;t have to worry about it.</p>

<h2>Scheduling it across time zones</h2>

<p>He&#39;s in Europe and we work APAC hours, so he wanted to be sure the exam time would line up. He logged into his ETS account, showed me the open slots at British time, and we picked one that suited both sides. Then he registered it himself and sent the confirmation. A small thing, but exactly the kind of small thing a cautious person likes settled early.</p>

<h2>The price, and paying it</h2>

<p>He wanted the price plain, so I laid it out: a guaranteed band across Verbal, Quant and the Analytical Writing essay, tiered by the target you need, half up front and the rest after, crypto only. He picked the 330+ tier, under Wheebox proctoring, and came back to say he&#39;d cleared the funds.</p>

<p>Paying it took a couple of extra days. His bank capped how much he could move in a day, so he couldn&#39;t send the deposit in one transfer: <em>&quot;Can I send you half today and half tomorrow? Will you also be able to confirm receipt of first payment?&quot;</em> Of course. He split it over two days, and I confirmed each half the moment it reached us. When the first half sat on hold overnight, I told him the second it cleared, so he was never left guessing.</p>

<h2>The machine</h2>

<p>Then the practical questions began. Would his current machine do? If not, which one should he buy, and did the exact operating-system version matter? He went deeper here than most clients ever do, and I answered every message. Careful people ask careful questions, and I would rather answer ten of them than have one thing go wrong on the day.</p>

<p>The catch was that his own computer didn&#39;t meet the spec. Rather than make him force it, we had him buy one that did and set it up together over the days before the test. It is unglamorous work, and it is exactly the kind of thing that quietly decides whether an exam runs clean.</p>

<h2>&quot;Could this be traced back to me?&quot;</h2>

<p>His most important question came quietly. He&#39;d sat the GRE himself a few times before, and he worried this could somehow be traced back to him. That is a completely reasonable thing to raise, and I told him so, then walked him through <a href="https://examinator.cc/blog/privacy">how we keep every client anonymous</a>. Keeping him anonymous is the point of how we work, not a detail we hope a client won&#39;t mention.</p>

<h2>The night before: the setup wiped itself</h2>

<p>This one almost sank it. The night before the exam I sent the usual reminder to keep the computer awake. A while later, this came back:</p>

<p>The machine had slept overnight and the setup we&#39;d put in place was gone. He was shaken, which anyone would be hours before an exam they&#39;d paid for out of savings. We kept him steady, reconnected first thing in the morning, and rebuilt everything well before his start time. By the time he sat down, it was all back exactly as it should be.</p>

<p>He was still asking on the morning of the test, and that&#39;s fine by me. <em>&quot;Is this safe?&quot;</em> Yes. What should he do with his phone? How does the proctor check-in go? I answered each one in real time as he got set up, so that when the proctor asked for something, he already knew exactly what to do.</p>

<h2>The payoff: he cleared his 330+</h2>

<p>The GRE shows your unofficial Verbal and Quant scores the moment you finish, with the Analytical Writing following in your account a little over a week later. His numbers came up, cleared the 330+ he had come for, and he sent the message that makes all the back-and-forth worth it:</p>

<h2>The bank froze the final payment</h2>

<p>Right after the test his bank held the final payment for review and labelled it a suspicious transaction, the automated prompt a large crypto transfer can trip. We worked it through and it cleared. He&#39;d seen it before, and he took it in stride.</p>

Upbit paused deposits and withdrawals of the affected coins while it moved funds to cold storage. That held up her payment for a few days.</p>

<h2>The deal and the deposit</h2>

<p>Here&#39;s the core of a TOEFL proxy test: a guaranteed score band across Reading, Listening and Writing. Pricing is tiered by the total you need on those three (Speaking is priced on its own, since you&#39;re the one speaking), with a 50% deposit and crypto-only payment. The next slot was December 9, and she wanted it done as soon as possible. She registered the exam herself and sent me a screenshot of the appointment. That part was straightforward.</p>

<p>Paying took a few extra days. Right after the hack, Upbit blocked USDC deposits, and Korea&#39;s rules only let you withdraw to verified recipients under a set limit. She was a little short of the 2,000 she owed. MetaMask wouldn&#39;t take her Korean card for the network fee. We&#39;d seen the same thing with another Korean client, so we did what worked then: move her funds to her own MetaMask wallet first, then pay us from there.</p>

<p>She still needed a little Ethereum to cover gas and couldn&#39;t get it in time, so I sent her some myself. The first transaction went pending, so we cancelled and resent it:</p>

<h2>Buying a new laptop</h2>

<p>The prep list is strict about the machine: a recent laptop with a fast processor, no tablets. She asked whether her old low-end laptop would do. It wouldn&#39;t, so she ordered a new one that met the spec. Her connection was fast enough on the download, but we needed the upload solid too, so she sorted that. Then we set up the remote-control software, which took a couple of tries to log in.</p>

<h2>Second cameras, and how it&#39;s handled</h2>

<p>Two things were new to her. First, the second camera, the phone-as-side-camera check. <em>&quot;I didn&#39;t know that they made us do the second camera lol.&quot;</em> We sent the training document and walked her through the angle. Second, how Speaking and the essay are handled on our end. Each has its own method, set up during the test-run and invisible to the proctor. We keep the exact mechanics to ourselves, but on the day it&#39;s simple for you: for Speaking you do the talking, for the essay you just follow along, and we take care of the rest.</p>

<h2>The &quot;canceled&quot; exam</h2>

<p>Setting up the day before, I noticed the last exam on her ETS account was marked <em>canceled</em>, so I asked about it. She&#39;d cancelled it herself, because she wasn&#39;t happy with the score and didn&#39;t want a weak result on her record. That&#39;s the right call: a clean account with no low scores is the best position to be in.</p>

<h2>Exam day</h2>

<p>December 9, 9am KST. We checked her screen, the setup, and the second camera. My only note for the live sections: <em>&quot;act like you&#39;re genuinely thinking things through.&quot;</em> It went fine. Right after it ended, she messaged:</p>

<p>About ten days later I asked if the scores were in. <em>&quot;I got it.&quot;</em> A strong total score, a solid 110+. She was happy with it, and the Speaking she&#39;d worried about was fine.</p>

<h2>Epilogue: she got into the Ivy League and came back</h2>

<p>A few months later, a new message: <em>&quot;Hi, I got accepted to an Ivy League university and I need to take a placement essay test, do you help with this too?&quot;</em> We did. I&#39;ll keep the school&#39;s name private, but going from &quot;is this even safe?&quot; to a place at one of the eight Ivy League universities is about as good as this kind of thing gets.</p>

<p>The placement test was a timed essay under Proctorio, so the setup was a little different, but the idea was the same: she followed our lead and we handled the writing. It came out clean in one pass:</p>

<h2>Looking back</h2>

<p>Soo-jin&#39;s job had a few bumps: the exchange froze deposits, a laptop had to be swapped, the remote software needed a couple of tries, and she wasn&#39;t sure about her Speaking. None of it changed the outcome. She got her score, got into her university, and came back for a second test.</p>

<p>She&#39;d already written us a heartfelt testimonial, but when we followed up asking for her email to send a formal review invite, she&#39;d rather not.
