The client thought GRE's writing score is added to its total score to arrive at the final score.

However, the maximum total score you can get on the GRE is 340 (170 each in Quantitative and verbal reasoning, with a separate 6 in Analytical writing).

The writing score is NOT included in GRE's total score.
