What is the SIE Exam?
The Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam is a FINRA-administered test that evaluates a candidate’s basic knowledge of the securities industry. It’s the first step for anyone looking to start a career in finance or work for a broker-dealer in the United States.

No sponsorship required : you can take the exam even if you’re not affiliated with a firm
Valid for 4 years
Once you pass the SIE, you’ll need to pass a “top-off” exam (like the Series 7 or Series 63) after getting hired or sponsored by a FINRA member firm in order to become fully registered.

SIE Pre-Exam Setup
