## Does the Proxy Test Taker's IP Address Matter?

Since it is an online testing mode, all major monitoring software checks the computer's IP address to prevent cheating. However, with our remote technology, the monitoring only detects the IP of the student's location. Moreover, our servers relay local IPs according to the student's test location, so the proxy test taker's IP will not affect the answering efficiency.

## Full story

Last year, a customer approached us for GMAT services. After we said that we don't offer escrow services on Taobao, they stopped talking to us. It was evident they didn't want to risk paying the deposit upfront.

A few months later, they got back in touch, saying that they had been banned from taking the GMAT for cheating.

Upon further inquiry, we learned that they had resorted to a Taobao vendor for assistance in cheating on their online GMAT exam and got caught. The customer described the Taobao vendor as a "dumbfuck who used some pinhole camera" to cheat on the GMAT.

They were hit with a 3-year ban from taking the GMAT, which is the most severe punishment we've ever seen!

The email from GMAC stated that the customer “accessed an unauthorized item” during their exam:

> At GMAC, we place a lot of value on the fairness and integrity of GMATT™ test results. In our analysis of your testing experience from 2023-I], we noticed you accessed an authorized item during your exam which is inconsistent with the GMAT™ terms and conditions as described in the GMATT™ Online Policies and Procedures you agreed to when you registered for the test.

> As a result, the score for your GMAT exam (Appointment ID: ()) will be canceled. You will not be permitted to schedule a future GMAT™ exam for three(3) years from the date of your last exam appointment.
